WELCOME!
Welcome to John Moore Equine Development! We invite you to browse through our website and get a feel for what we have to offer you and your horse.
The foundation of our approach is based on communication from the horse's point of view. Horses have basic survival instincts that can easily come in conflict with our human predatory nature. So, we strive to teach riders to meet the horse half way, and understand their nature and instincts before demanding that they set aside their survival instincts and conform to a human designed training program. When we understand their point of view first, we are then able to design a training program that is in harmony with the horse's nature, and we learn to adapt to the individual horse.
Remember, a 130 pound, or even a 200 pound human cannot make a 1200 pound horse do anything. All you can do is cause him to decide to do something. When he decides to do something for you because he respects you, it is with an entirely different attitude than when he is made to do it because he fears you, or maybe even loathes you. But when the attitude is right, and genuine respect and acceptance is attained, amazing things can and do happen.
John works with horses and riders of all disciplines and levels to help create a more harmonious partnership between the two. A clinic with John is an educational and enjoyable experience and one that you will likely want to continue as you begin to see the positive effects of his unique way of working with horses.
